India defeated Sri Lanka in the opening T20I match of three matches T20I series at RPS Colombo. Notably, this was India’s 3rd victory in the 6-match limited-overs series. India won the three-match One-Day International series by 2-1 against Sri Lanka. Ahead of the T20 International encounter between the teams, star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was seen lifting the trophy and cherishing the moment.
Before the match, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up the trophy and it looked like he was celebrating the series win in advance. However, there is a strong possibility that India can win the T20I series trophy against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Sony sports captured the moment of Chahal lifting the trophy and posted it on their official Twitter handle. Stars Sports captioned the post:

During the ODI series, fans witnessed the reunion of Kul-Cha after a long time. The duo consists of two wrist spinners; Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav and Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Notably for the first time after 2019 Kul-Cha was seen participating in the international game together. Adding to it, during this period the spin duo played for India but were not included in the squad together.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav performed well in the ODI series
In the ODI’s first encounter Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, both looked in amazing form. In his 10 overs spell, Chahal gave 52 runs and bagged two wickets for the team. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav delivered 9 overs for the team and gave 48 runs by picking 2 wickets.
After the brilliant performance in the first One Day International match, the duo was selected in the 2nd match as well. However this time Kuldeep Yadav had a decent outing as he went wicketless after bowling his 10 overs spell. Although his mate Yuzvendra Chahal performed even better and bagged 3 scalps by giving away just 50 runs.
However, after the series win in hand India completely changed the bowling unit in the third ODI game. India dropped the spin duo of Chahal and Kuldeep in the match. Also during the 3rd ODI India made 6 changes in the squad including 5 debutants on the team. Eventually, India suffered a loss in that match.
In the meantime, India participated in the first T20I however Kul-Cha was not seen in the match. Only one-half of the star spin duo; Yuzvendra Chahal participated in the match. Also, Chahal went economical in the match he gave away only 19 runs in 4 overs and picked 1 wicket. Adding to it India was victories in the match as they defeated Sri Lanka by 38 runs to win the game.
India will face Sri Lanka in the second T20I match at RPS, Colombo. India will be looking forward to winning the second match and register the win in the T20I series.
