Afghanistan Cricket Team has had a dream run ever since they stepped into international cricket in 2011. Although they are one of the newest teams, they haven’t short of confidence and delivered to their full potential. Recently, star Afghan spinner Rashid Khan admitted that they have the talent and skill to win T20 World Cup.

Afghanistan caused major upset when they defeated West Indies in the 2016 World t20, who eventually went on to become the champions that year. Previously, they also defeated Scotland in their first-ever World Cup in 2015. The Afghans have also beaten West Indies in a T20I series and recently got their Test status in 2017.

As the team from Asia keep going up in the graph, Rashid Khan stated that the country wants them to win the T20 World Cup. He also admitted that they have the talent and pool to win the global trophy.

“I think the biggest achievement [for Afghanistan] should be, right now, what the team is looking for, what the country is expecting is, to win the T20 World Cup, because we have all the skills, talent, and we just need to have that belief in ourselves that we can do it,” Rashid Khan told India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter’s YouTube show ‘DRS with Ash’.

“Talent-wise we are so good, we have the spinners, we have the fast bowlers, we have the batting skills as well to do it,” added Rashid Khan.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan have some quality players in the ranks namely Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman. They also have talent in their batting. Recently, six cricketers from the country featured in the Caribbean Premier League.

Among them, Nabi, Rashid, and Mujeeb will turn up for respective franchises in the upcoming Indian Premier League. The reputed tournament will start from September 19 in the UAE and will run until November 10.
