Protean pacer Kagiso Rabada picked four wickets in the second innings and played a key role in bowling India out for 174. South Africa chasing 305 to win are 94/4 needing another 211 runs to win on day 5. Rabada is notr ready to throw in the towel just yet as he believes that his side can pull out a win for this position as well.

Dean Elgar finished day 4 unbeaten on 51 and the balance of the game rests on his shoulders. Addressing the reporters after the day’s play, Kagiso Rabada spoke about how they would like to approach the final day.

“Definitely. we have just got to show belief. Strategise overnight and see how to approach this. Every sportsman has got to believe,” Rabada said when asked whether South Africa can still win the first Test.

He further said Dean Elgar is key to South Africa’s chances of winning of drawing the Test match from this position.

“Dean is doing his best for his team, his country and himself. He is leading from the front. He has done it countless times,” Rabada said of his captain.

Meanwhile, there is a chance of rain playing a spoilsport on the final day of the Test match. Rain washed out day 2 of the Test match as well. However, the match has moved at a faster pace on day 3 and 4 making the final day’s play interesting.

“Yeah, there have been chats on when it is going to rain or when it is not going to…It is a bit of an uncontrollable.”

Jasprit Bumrah shifted the balance of the game in India’s favour on day 4. He dismissed Rassie Van der Dussen and nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj in quick succession just before the end of the day’s play. Rabada has given credit to Bumrah for changing the match around in India’s favour.

“They got some quality bowlers. (Mohammed) Shami and (Jasprit) Bumrah are very experienced and (Mohd) Siraj has been bowling well in the recent past,” he said.
