“We’d Sing It Loud To Tease Ishan” – Axar Patel Reveals IPL Song Tale

Team India all-rounder Axar Patel shared a humorous anecdote involving an IPL song following the 2026 auction. Retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction, Axar is set to continue as the franchise’s captain. Speaking after the auction, he recalled how he, along with fellow cricketers Rishabh Pant and Avesh Khan, would sing a particular song to poke fun at Ishan Kishan.

Pant and Avesh were Axar’s teammates at Delhi Capitals during their time in the IPL. The trio would often break into “Dulhe Ka Sahara” from the Bollywood film Dhadkan as part of their light-hearted teasing.

“We sing this song in the IPL. Myself, Rishabh, Avesh Khan and Ishan. We would keep singing it loudly to tease Ishan. It is our personal IPL anthem,” he said on the 2 Sloggers’ YouTube channel.

Rishabh Pant and Avesh Khan were retained by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, while Ishan Kishan was kept on by SunRisers Hyderabad. The 2026 season of the tournament is scheduled to get underway on March 26.

“I’ll Handle It Alone” – Axar Patel On Close Teammates Exit From Delhi Capitals

During the same interaction, Axar Patel shared another amusing exchange involving Rishabh Pant and Avesh Khan, with Ishan Kishan also part of the conversation. Axar, Pant, and Avesh were teammates at Delhi Capitals in the IPL between 2019 and 2021.

Avesh was the first to part ways with the franchise, joining Lucknow Super Giants in 2022, while Pant made the move to LSG during the 2025 season. Axar explained that he would jokingly ask them why they were no longer part of the team, before humorously adding that he would manage things on his own.

“Rishabh was there, Ishan, Avesh Khan. 5-6 of us would sit together. One after another, all left, and I was like, ‘What’s the problem?’ But then I thought, ‘Okay, I will handle it alone’,” he said.
