With the T20 World cup starting in 3 days’ time, all eyes of cricket fans are towards the mouth-watering clash between India and Pakistan on the 24th of October. With less than 10 days left for the battle between the arch-nemesis, the sporting fraternity is showing its excitement for the huge game in Dubai.

The eyes of cricket lovers are on the fact that whether Pakistan can finally break the jinx and register a victory over India in a World Cup match. In the history of the sport, the Men in Green have never beaten India in either a 50-over or 20-over World Cup.

With the match between the cross-border rivals becoming the talk of the town, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has left fans in raptures by revealing the hilarious message he sent Shoaib Akhtar on the encounter.

Talking to Star Sports, Harbhajan said, “I have told Shoaib Akhtar, what is the point of Pakistan playing, you should give us a walkover, you will play, you will again lose, you will be upset.”

“Our team is very solid, very strong, they will easily beat you guys,” he concluded.

Harbhajan has played in many India-Pakistan clashes on the world stage. He was part of the Indian team that beat Pakistan in the 2011 World Cup semi-final and played both the games between the two sides in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. In fact, he was one of India’s three bowlers to successfully hit the stumps in the historic bowl-out.

India-Pakistan placed in the same group

In all, India and Pakistan have faced each other in the 50-over world cup seven times and on five occasions in the T20 world cup. In each of the 12 encounters, the Men in Blue have emerged victorious.

The two teams are in the same group in the Super 12 stage of the upcoming T20 World Cup alongside New Zealand and Afghanistan. Two more sides will join them on the basis of the qualification round which starts from 17th October in UAE and Oman.
