Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially ended their marriage after the Bandra family court in Mumbai granted them a divorce on Thursday. Their joint petition was accepted by the court, legally dissolving their four-year marriage. Advocate Nitin Kumar Gupta, representing Chahal, confirmed the verdict, stating, “The court has granted the decree of divorce. The parties are no longer husband and wife.”
Following the court proceedings, Chahal was seen leaving the premises wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “Be your own sugar daddy,” while Dhanashree donned a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a black face mask. Their separation had been anticipated for some time, with speculation intensifying after the two unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Dhanashree Verma Confronts Paparazzi
A video of Dhanashree Verma losing her temper at paparazzi outside the court has been making rounds on social media. In the clip, Dhanashree was seen visibly upset after a woman fell due to the crowded media presence. Frustrated by the chaos, she lashed out at the photographers, questioning their behavior. The incident sparked discussions online about the intrusiveness of media coverage in celebrity lives.
The couple had filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025, but their case faced a legal hurdle when the family court initially refused to waive the mandatory six-month cooling-off period on February 20. However, citing Chahal’s professional commitments in the IPL 2025 season, the hearing was expedited, leading to a final verdict.
Chahal’s IPL 2025 Commitments
With his personal matters now settled, Yuzvendra Chahal is set to focus on his IPL 2025 campaign with Punjab Kings (PBKS). The franchise secured the seasoned spinner for ₹18 crore in the November 2024 auction. Chahal remains one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history, holding the record for most wickets by an Indian in T20Is and excelling in both the IPL and international formats.
Chahal began his IPL journey with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2014, taking 139 wickets in 113 matches. After moving to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022, he played a key role in their playoff runs in two of three seasons. With PBKS, he will aim to continue his stellar form in the upcoming tournament.
