The Indian men’s cricket team, led by Hardik Pandya, is in Ireland for a two-match T20 International series. This is the second time in the last four years that India is touring Ireland. The men in blue are set to start the short campaign tomorrow (Sunday, June 26), at the Village, Malahide in Dublin.
When India last toured the Emerald Isle, the Virat Kohli-led men smashed two consecutive 200+ totals. Although, not everything is the same this time, as almost all the seniors are in England, for the multi-format tour. Overall, there are currently two Indian teams in the United Kingdom.
Moreover, the team back in 2018 included MS Dhoni, the Indian veteran. It was the second T20I of the series then and Dhoni was rested. Dinesh Karthik donned the gloves for India in that game. Even though Dhoni wasn’t batting or fielding, the former Indian skipper still drew attention as he carried drinks for his batting teammates. Dhoni, even as a water boy, made the spectators flare up with joy.
Dhoni’s humbleness became the talk of the town, and the 40-year-old was praised all over social media. A Twitter user wrote, “Look who is carrying drinks for @ImRaina . @msdhoni will and forever remain a role model for any youngsters. #Respect #INDvIRE.”, while posting a picture of Dhoni carrying drinks for his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Suresh Raina.

KL Rahul’s explosive knock helped India seal the series
In the match, India had posted a massive total of 213 runs for four, thanks to KL Rahul’s stunning knock of 70 runs off just 36 deliveries and Raina’s contribution of 69 runs in 45 deliveries. Hardik Pandya, the current Indian skipper in Ireland, also finished it in style, playing an unbeaten knock of 32 runs in just nine deliveries!
In reply, the Irish men couldn’t sustain for long, as the Kul-Cha duo wrapped the Ireland inning for merely 70 runs. Both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets.
Besides, this time, Yadav is not in the squad, instead, Ravi Bishnoi, the young Lucknow Super Giants leggie has been given a chance. Several fresh faces including Arshdeep Singh, and Umran Malik are the players to watch out for.
