Team India’s thrilling 6-run win against England at The Oval wrapped up the Test series at 2-2, giving Indian fans much to celebrate. After this hard-fought campaign, the Men in Blue will now take a brief break from international action.
No matches are scheduled immediately after the series, allowing players some much-needed rest and recovery. This pause comes at a perfect time, giving the team a chance to regroup before heading into a busy schedule packed with tournaments and bilateral series.
Asia Cup 2025: India’s Return to Action
India’s next international appearance will be at the 2025 Asia Cup, which is set to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates in September. The tournament will follow the T20 format, offering a perfect lead-up to other white-ball competitions.
India is scheduled to open its campaign on September 10 against the host nation UAE, followed by a high-profile clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14, both to be held in Dubai. Their final group match will be against Oman on September 19 in Abu Dhabi. These matches are expected to generate high viewership and enthusiasm as fans await India’s return to the shortest format.
Busy Calendar Ahead: West Indies, Australia, and South Africa
Once the Asia Cup concludes, India’s cricket calendar becomes more hectic. The team will host West Indies for a two-match Test series, starting on October 2 in Ahmedabad, followed by the second Test in Delhi on October 10. Shortly afterward, the Indian team will tour Australia for a limited-overs series.
This includes three ODIs beginning October 19and a five-match T20I series extending into early November. The action doesn’t stop there — South Africa will visit India for a two-Test series in mid-November, with matches scheduled in Kolkata (from November 14) and Guwahati(from November 22).
