Over the years, cricketers have been seen playing mind games before the match in order to confuse their opponents. Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal did something similar in 2012 with the English team.
It should be noted that Saeed Ajmal is the bowler who was well known for his “Doosra” delivery. “Doosra” is a specific style of delivery in cricket bowled by an off-spinner. The doosra spins in the opposite direction of an off-break, attempting to fool the batter into playing an unavoidable stroke.
Saeed Ajmal created a flutter in 2012 when he stated that he is going to come up with a “Teesra”. Now Saeed Ajmal has narrated a funny story behind his statement, which will definitely make you chuckle.
Speaking on a news channel in Pakistan, Saeed Ajmal revealed that before the England Series, his manager asked him to make some public statement which creates confusion in the England camp. This is why he said his “Teesra” is coming. “My manager told me Saeed brother, do something that will cause panic in the England camp. Then I said my ‘teesra’ is coming. Actually, my third child was coming into the world. I didn’t even talk about any [cricket] delivery”, Ajmal said while laughing.Â

Saeed also explained how the England bowlers were on the lookout for his special delivery throughout the series but were never able to find it. It’s worth highlighting that Saeed took 24 wickets in that 3-match Test series.
“They were trying to find my teesra,” Ajmal said, “and I got 24 wickets in that Test match series.”
Nasir Hussain approached me and asked, “Where is Teesra?. I told him it was on its way.” Former Pakistan cricketers Yasir Hameed and Imran Nazir were also present in the show, and they couldn’t stop laughing after hearing Ajmal’s hilarious story.
