The Mumbai Indian’s women innings turned out to be dramatic in the final over as the on-strike batter Issy Wong hit back-to-back boundaries to bowler Deepti Sharma and the side lose 2 wickets on the very next balls as run-outs in the ongoing WPL 2023.
Mumbai Indian’s women while batting first started well in the initial innings as Hayley Matthews scored a quick-fire 35 runs off 30 balls with a strike rate of 116.66, Harmanpreet too played a decent inning off 25 runs off 22 balls at a strike rate of 113.63.
But the side lost crucial wickets at regular intervals, and managed to score only 127 runs target with the heroic innings played at the death overs by Issy Wong.
Issy Wong played a destructive knock of 32 runs just 19 balls merely with a strike rate of 168.42, UP Warriorz women did wonderful work in restricting the in-form batting unit of Mumbai Indian women.
Sophie Ecclestone picked up 3 wickets, Deepti Sharma, and Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked up 2-2 wickets each along with Anjali Sarvani who picked up 1 wicket.

WPL 2023: UP Warriorz started poorly in the tournament
The side while chasing the short target is struggling, as they lost 3 quick wickets of Devika Vaidya, Alyssa Healy, and Kiran Navgire keeping the side under pressure.
Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris built up a good partnership of 44 runs keeping the side back on track. Tahlia McGrath scored 38 runs from 25 balls with a strike rate of 152, and Grace Harris scored 39 runs from 28 balls with a strike rate of 139.28
The match has come to an interesting point, as both teams can pull the match from this point in their favour. It will be exciting to watch which team will keep its nerve calm and record a win in the 15th match of the Women’s Premier League.
