Royal Challengers Bangalore ended the home leg with a 23-run win over UP Warriorz played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 4th March 2024.
It was an impressive batting performance by RCB as they posted 198 for 3 in 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana scored 80 Ellyse Perry made 58 and Ghosh scored a quickfire knock that helped the host post the highest total of the tournament so far.
Despite a quickfire start by Kiran Navgire and captain Healy, UP Warriorz lost wickets at quick intervals. Healy was the top scorer with 55 while Deepti Sharma and Khemnar provided some resistance but lost by 23 runs.

Smriti Mandhana was the star of the show for Royal Challengers Bangalore in yesterday’s brilliant knock. She looked in sublime touch right from the word go and put enough pressure on UP Warriorz. Mandhana timed the ball brilliantly keeping the scoreboard ticking, not allowing the bowlers. She completed her fifty off 34 balls and maintained a strong partnership with Ellyse Perry.
Mandhana has been in great touch during WPL 2024 as she is the leading run-scorer in this tournament so far. For her 80 off 50 balls, Mandhana was named player of the match. Her 80 is the highest score by an Indian captain since it started in 2023. The stylish left-handed player scored 74 against Delhi Capitals on 29th February 2024 at the same ground but could not help RCB register a win.
- Second Highest Wicket Partnership in WPL history
Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a mammoth total of 198 for 3 in 20 overs against UP Warriorz. Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry looked in sublime touch putting pressure on the UP Warriorz Mandhana and Perry hit attacking shots that kept them under immense pressure. They put on 95 runs for the 2nd wicket which holds the record of the 2nd highest wicket partnership in WPL history.
Hayley Mathews and Nat Sciver Brunt hold the record highest partnership in WPL history. They put on 114 not out during WPL season 1 which helped Mumbai Indians win the title. Mandhana and Perry’s 95-run partnership is the second-highest wicket partnership in WPL history for RCB. Mandhana and Sophie Devine put on 125 runs during WPL season 1.

Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 198 for 3 which is the highest by Smriti Mandhana-led side in WPL history. They struggled with their batting during WPL season 1. Royal Challengers Bangalore has been performing well as a batting unit this season, especially Mandhana.
Their previous highest score during WPL history was 190 for 6 chasing down 202 against Gujarat Giants. RCB also posted the highest total this season so far. Before this, Delhi Capitals held the record posting 194 for 6 in 20 overs against RCB.
