All the excitement for the World Test Championship Final has been washed away as the rain gods were not kind enough. It poured all day at Southampton and therefore no play was possible. Fans all over the world were eager for the game but it just wasn’t possible.
Apart from the fans, the players of both the teams would have liked to take the field today. After months of preparation and hard work, this is where it was all supposed to end. These were the best two teams over the two years of this tournament and everyone wanted to see them play for the all-important Test mace.
While the rain was pouring down during the first day at Southampton the Indian team had a fun-filled time inside the hotel. They played darts. BCCI posted a video showing the Indian team enjoying a game of darts. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was seen having fun while playing.
“When rain didn’t stop play. Team India members enjoyed a game of dart on the sidelines during the rain break in Southampton #WTC21 Final,” the video was captioned.

ICC has allotted a reserve day for WTC final
The team enjoyed indoors but will be itching to play the final for which we all are eager. India yesterday announced their playing 11 yesterday for the all-important clash. They have gone with the reliable duo of Jadeja and Ashwin with three pacers. New Zealand is yet to announce their playing 11 as we all wait for the proceedings to start tomorrow.
ICC had reserved a day in case play was not possible. They were anticipating the rain and therefore have made the necessary arrangements. If the Rain Gods are kind enough we can still have a 5-day game. Everyone is hopeful but we have to wait and see what happens.
