WTC Final 2023: “This Is A Message To The Top Order.”: Sourav Ganguly Delivers Judgment On Indian Cricket Team

During the WTC Final, Sourav Ganguly offered some sage advice regarding the performance of India’s top order batters.

Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of the Indian cricket team, praised Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur for their tenacious performances.

He also made a subtle jab at the top-order batters On Friday, Day 3 of the World Test Championship Final (WTC) at The Oval.

Even though India’s first innings saw them all out for 296 runs, both batters’ half-centuries kept them in the contest.

It can be interpreted as a “message to the top order,” according to Ganguly, who claimed that they demonstrated how to bat on the surface in the dressing room.

They demonstrated in the dressing room that you can score runs on this wicket if you put in the effort and have a little bit of luck.

Rahane deserves praise; he was exceptional. Early on, Shardul was beaten and bruised, but he persisted.

He has a solid track record of batting in both England and Australia. India is mounting a strong comeback.

“This is a message to the top order”, Ganguly said on Star Sports.

On the third day of the World Test Championship final against India, Australia reached 123 for four at the conclusion of their second innings to increase the total lead to 296 runs.

Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green were batting on 41 and 7, respectively, at the time of stumps.

India lost KS Bharat early when they resumed on 151 for 5. Ajinkya Rahane (89) and Shardul Thakur (51) had added 109 runs for the seventh wicket. They helped their team at the oval to avoid a follow-on.

After lunch, India lost the last few wickets quickly, and they finished their innings at 296 in 69.4 overs.

While Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, and Cameron Green each took two wickets for Australia, Pat Cummins, the team’s captain, took three wickets.
