ICC announced the names of the commentators for the ICC World test championship finals between India and New Zealand, big names like Sunil Gavaskar and Kumar Sangakkara, Nasser Hussain, Simon Doull, Ian Bishop, etc were present in the panel but one major name was missing in the list, Harsha Bhogle also known as Voice of cricket.
Harsha Bhogle is regarded as one of the greatest commentators of all time his amazing analysis of the game and brilliant use of words mixed with his awesome voice gives viewers different pleasure, joy, and happiness while enjoying the game. Unfortunately, the 59-year-old commentator’s voice will be missed in the first-ever world test championship final between India and the Black Caps at Ageas Bowl, Southampton from 18-22 June.
While everyone left wondering as to why Harsha Bhogle opted out of the commentary panel, he himself gave the exact reason behind his decision through his Twitter handle. Mental health has become an important piece of the discussion during this pandemic era as players have to remain quarantined in the bio bubble and because of living in restrictions, the players get more and more fatigued which leads to stress and anxiety.
“I was hoping to be in Southampton this week for the #WTCFinals. But quarantine requirements meant I would have to be away for 27-28 days for one game. I have spent a lot of time in bubbles and there are more ahead. I am enjoying being home and so, regretfully, had to pull out,” Bhogle wrote on Twitter.

Harsha Bhogle has travelled a lot during COVID times doing quarantine and staying away from family and after a long time he has managed to take a break, he said that staying away from family for 27-28 days seems too much for one game.
Many players and commentators have been taking a break from cricket to relax their mind and soul from bubble fatigue and to spend their precious time with family at home, Bhogle has taken a great decision to take a short break which he feels was much needed.
Meanwhile, the Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) allowed the players to travel with their families for the long, close to 4-month tour which will end in September. This decision was widely appreciated by netizens considering the long duration of the tour.
