Team India batter Virat Kohli is known to be very animated and energetic on the cricket field. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri reckons that the veteran batter’s intensity on the field is needed in foreign conditions. He expressed that the former Indian skipper’s energy rubs off on the other players in the team.

Virat Kohli is currently in England for the World Test Championship final against Australia. The final is all set to take place from June 7 to June 11 at The Oval in London. The Indian batter has a great record against Australia, and it is believed that the team gets the best out of him. Speaking on Star Sports, Ravi Shastri expressed,

“Virat Kohli’s energy rubs off on the other players as well. When you go out to play in foreign conditions, it is very important to have that intensity. You cannot show intensity for one hour and then go to sleep. The opposition will eat you up. He (Kohli) was the leader when it came to that.”

In the ongoing World Test Championship cycle, Virat Kohli has scored 869 runs at an average of 32.18. He has scored a century and three fifties in the 2021-23 World Test Championship cycle.

If there are two spinners, India may go for KS Bharat: Ravi Shastri

Former cricketer Ravi Shastri further expressed his thoughts on Team India’s wicket-keeper for the World Test Championship final against Australia. He reckons that the team will go ahead with KS Bharat if they are playing two spinners. However, in case, India goes ahead with four seamers, Ishan Kishan could be making his Test debut.

“A choice has to be made between KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan. I have a feeling that India go depending on who is playing. If two spinners are playing, maybe KS Bharat. But if there are four seamers and one spinner playing, then it might go the other way,” said Ravi Shastri.
