Indian Men’s Cricket Team is set to face-off against New Zealand in the WTC Final starting June 18. The venue for the final event is the Ageas Rose Bowl in Southampton. The Kiwis recently finished their series against England, coming out on top with a 1-0 margin of victory.
The Indian team on the other hand, had an intra-squad match where the players gained some valuable practice with the Dukes ball, which is the official ball to be used in the WTC Final. Following the match, the team got back to practice sessions and BCCI shared videos from the proceedings.
Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are seen in action
The last time Kohli and Rishabh Pant toured England, they had a pretty good series with Kohli coming out as the top scorer in the Tests with 573 runs. Pant, who scored a century as well albeit in a losing cause, will be looking forward to taking the same form into the WTC Final.
These two along with Ajinkya Rahane are seen getting some batting practice ahead of the final event. The BCCI tweeted a video of the same with the caption:
“Three sleeps away from the BIG GAME. How excited are you? #WTC21 #TeamIndia”

In the video, we see the bowling assistants throwing the ball from a certain height in order to mimic the action of Kiwi paceman Kyle Jamieson. Also seen bowling are Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami, who are likely to be India’s pace battery alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
The World Test Championship Final is scheduled to take place from June 18-22 at the Ageas Rose Bowl in Southampton. The ICC Test Mace is also at stake as the winner will become the No.1 Test team in the world.
