With 17 needed off the final over from Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel hit him for three sixes to give Delhi Capitals a memorable win in IPL 2020. This win takes them to the top spot again in the points table as Delhi grows from strength to strength in the competition. Meanwhile, Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake slammed MS Dhoni’s tactics of giving the left-arm spinner to bowl the final over. He said that giving the ball to Jadeja instead of Dwayne Bravo in the final over was a poor decision by the CSK skipper.

Blake took to Twitter after the game between DC and CSK to post a message. He slammed the CSK skipper for his poor decision making in the final over against Axar Patel. Jadeja’s deliveries to Patel coming into him made it easier for the left-hander to hit through the line and close the game for his side. This was Chennai’s sixth loss of this IPL season.

“I think Dhoni made the worst decision in a long while. That’s a poor decision to bowl Jadeja at the last part. We had Bravo. Really?” he said in a video.

After the match, MS Dhoni clarified the reason why he did not give the ball to Bravo in the final over. He said Bravo was not fit which is why he gave the ball to Jadeja as he had to choose between Karn Sharma and Jadeja.

“Bravo was not fit, he went out and was really not able to come back. That was the reason we had to bowl (Jadeja). The option was either Karn and Jaddu so I went ahead with Jaddu. Maybe not enough,” the CSK skipper.

With Bravo being injured, MS Dhoni had limited options in all fairness to him and Jadeja was the best option he could run into for that final over. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan, hit his maiden IPL ton, to anchor the chase for the Capitals, who won the game by five wickets.
