Former India skipper MS Dhoni has a great understanding of the game. His ability to understand the situation beforehand makes him an outstanding leader. Recently, veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma opened up on his camaraderie with MS Dhoni saying you can learn a lot from him.
Although Ishant made his debut under Rahul Dravid, but he rose to prominence under Dhoni. Indian cricket reached greater since he took over the leadership duties in 2007. Ishant Sharma revealed he got to know Dhoni better only after 2013 when he played an instrumental role in helping India win the Champions Trophy in England.

The fast bowler from Delhi revealed he started talking more to Dhoni and understood how he treated the youngsters. Ishant also revealed that MS Dhoni’s room is open to everyone and Mohammed Shami will be found there all the time.
“Initially, my interaction with MS Dhoni was limited, but after 2013, I started talking to him and understanding him,” Ishant said on the Star Sports show Cricket Connected.
“Then I got to know how cool he is and how nicely he talks to the youngsters and treats them. He is same on the field, he has never asked us to not visit him in his room. You can ask (Mohammed) Shami, he goes to his room the most! He has always been like this, and it’s a different moment to enjoy with him when you can learn a lot of things from him, about cricket or life,” he added.
Ishant Sharma has so far played 97 Tests, 80 ODIs and 14 T20Is in his career, picking up a total of 420 wickets across formats. Most of his success has come under MS Dhoni. He was gearing up to play the IPL for Delhi Capitals but BCCI had to postpone it owing COVID-19 pandemic.
