Australia’s Test and ODI captain, Pat Cummins, has commended the consistent performances of senior Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. Describing them as “super consistent,” he expressed that playing alongside these two players has been a special experience.
During Cummins’ captaincy in 2023, Australia achieved significant success by winning the World Test Championship (WTC) and the ODI World Cup, defeating India in both finals. Additionally, they retained the Ashes, concluding the five-match Test series against England with a 2-2 scoreline.
In an interview with the ICC, the Australian fast bowler commended both Jadeja and Kohli.
“Kohli and Jadeja are super consistent, you can’t keep them out of it, they find a way to drag their team out of trouble and win it, to be alongside those guys has been really special,” the right-arm pacer said.

Kohli had an outstanding performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, scoring 765 runs in 11 matches at an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.32. This included three centuries and six half-centuries. On the other hand, Jadeja, the versatile all-rounder, has been a crucial component of the Indian team in various formats over the past few years.

In addition to the team’s achievements, Cummins has experienced personal success. The fast bowler was recently honored with the title of ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. Commenting on the award, the Australian captain expressed that it was a significant honour.
“It is a huge honor, it is been a big year with lots of wonderful team success and to get this individual honor is huge. We are a team sport where you play for kind of team wins and you’re going after tournaments and trophies together. In terms of an individual accolade, it’s right up there,” the 30-year-old said.
Cummins secured 59 wickets and accumulated 422 runs in 24 international cricket matches last year. He was also appointed as the captain of the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year 2023.
In addition, Cummins’ teammate and experienced opener Usman Khawaja received the title of ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2023, acknowledging his achievement of scoring 1,210 runs in 13 Tests last year.
