Shubman Gill stood tall against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the run chase and helped KKR win their first match of IPL 2020. The 21-year-old looked at complete ease and anchored the innings brilliantly. Gill scored an unbeaten 70 and took his side home along with Eoin Morgan. 

Interestingly post the win against SRH, Gill posted a photo on Instagram on which Abhishek Sharma left a facetious comment. The SRH player sarcastically told Gill that he was lucky in the match and got saved against him during his bowling spell.

 “Bach gya tu iss vaar”, Abhishek commented. 

Meanwhile, former legendary batsman Yuvraj Singh helped out his Punjab teammate in his unique style. Yuvraj joined in the fun and helped Gill by writing a humorous reply. 

“I think tu bach gaya is baar”, said Yuvraj. 


Shubman had hit Abhishek for a six during his knock hence tried having some fun with his ex under-19 teammate. The SRH all-rounder was quick to respond and reminded Yuvraj that he has dismissed both of them. 

“paji tuhaanu te yaad hee hai Sab kida out krda c mai”, Abhishek wrote in Punjabi.

Moreover, after missing out in the first match against MI, Gill looked determined to score against SRH. Opening the batting the talented youngster showed his class and played a chanceless knock. 

The Kolkata Knight Riders will now be facing the Rajasthan Royals in their next encounter of IPL 2020. The match will be contested at the Dubai International Stadium on 30 September (Wednesday). 

Furthermore, Gill received acknowledgement from every corner as many on social media asked him to play for Indian regularly. Kevin Pietersen even wanted KKR to replace Dinesh Karthik as captain with Gill after his performance during IPL 2020.
