Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets in the 41st match of IPL 2022 at Wankhede stadium. The Knight Riders once again benched Pat Cummins for this match. They trusted Tim Southee to perform the role of the lead pacer.
However, Indian legend Yuvraj Singh wasn’t happy with the decision of Kolkata Knight Riders to bench ace all-rounder Pat Cummins. The 2011 World Cup winner slammed KKR management for leaving out a match-winner of Cummins’ quality.
“I’m so surprised to see @patcummins30 sit out unless he’s injured ? World class all rounder . If someone has had 2 3 tough games does it mean u stop believing in your match winners? cause they can win you 3 in a row as well !!just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️ #DCvKKR,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

Earlier in the season, Pat Cummins scored a 14-ball 50 against the Mumbai Indians. It is the joint-fastest fifty in the history of IPL which shows how destructive he can be with the bat. However, with the ball, the 28-year-old cricketer has been very poor. He has taken just four wickets at a poor bowling average of 48 and a pathetic economy rate of 12 runs per over.
Kuldeep Yadav derails KKR for the second time in a row
The 27-year-old Kuldeep Yadav was benched most of the time in the last two IPL seasons by KKR. In this year’s IPL auction, Delhi Capitals trusted Kuldeep and the spinner has lived up to the task. He has been in brilliant form this season and continued his good form against his former team today. He grabbed four crucial wickets of Baba Indrajith, Sunil Narine, Shreyas Iyer and Andre Russell.
“I might have become a better bowler, but I am mentally stronger than before. When you fail in like you pick what you can improve on and that is something I had to improve. I don’t get scared of failing now. I liked Russell’s wicket as I set him up, it was my plan and when there were a couple of dots I knew he would step out. I am enjoying my bowling,” said Kuldeep after getting the player of the match award.
