Whenever you search for the records of Yuvraj Singh, the first and foremost thing to appear is all about his six sixes in an over. His incredible feat helped him to smash a stunning 12-ball fifty, which is still intact in the record books. It was the knock, which was one of the defining moments of Yuvraj’s career.

Yuvraj had slammed the fastest fifty off just 12 deliveries in a 2007 T20 World Cup match against England in Durban. The former all-rounder destroyed pacer Stuart Broad in the game with six sixes off his over. Yuvraj scored 58 runs off 16 balls laced with seven sixes and three fours in the match to help India win by 18 runs.

KL and Hardik have the potential – Yuvraj Singh

Several players like Colin Munro, Shahidi and Shai Hope among others have come close to breaking Yuvraj’s record of fastest T20I fifty in 12 balls but have failed to outclass the former Indian all-rounder. Speaking of the same, Yuvraj Singh revealed that Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have the potential to break his record.

Yuvraj during a live session on a Youtube page said that Rahul and Pandya have all the firepower in their batting to break his record of fastest fifty in T20Is. Recently, KL Rahul scored 14-ball fifty, which is the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League.

Two guys I thought could break the record are Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. KL can do it he has 50 off 14 balls in the IPL but scoring a 50 in international cricket where all are quality bowlers and in IPL where you get two quality bowlers is not the same. But KL and Hardik have the potential,” Yuvraj said on Sportscreen’s Youtube page.

“Hardik Pandya could be the guy who breaks my record of fastest T20 fifty … he has all the making of being a great all-rounder … but then again you need to have someone to guide him in the team,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by PTI.

Well, it would be interesting to see who breaks the record of the stylish southpaw. With game evolving very much, surely there is no safety for the record of Yuvraj Singh.
