Veteran Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal posted a mysterious story ahead of India’s 2025 Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh on February 20. He shared a quote expressing gratitude to God for always protecting him.
Chahal’s personal life has been in the spotlight after fans noticed he unfollowed his wife, Dhanashree Verma, on Instagram and removed all posts featuring her. The 34-year-old thanked the almighty for always supporting and rescuing him. The quote he shared read:
“God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you God for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”

Yuzvendra Chahal missed out on India‘s 2025 Champions Trophy squad, last featuring in the 2024 T20 World Cup but remaining benched. After India’s triumph, he was dropped, with Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav preferred over him.
Yuzvendra Chahal is set to represent Punjab Kings in IPL 2025
Rajasthan Royals (RR) released Yuzvendra Chahal ahead of last year’s IPL mega auction. As the tournament’s all-time leading wicket-taker with 205 scalps, he was highly sought after.
A bidding war ensued, with six teams—Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gujarat Titans (GT), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH)—competing for him in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Punjab Kings secured Yuzvendra Chahal for a massive ₹18 crore after an intense bidding war, making him the costliest spinner in IPL auction history and a key addition to their bowling attack.
PBKS will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 25. Shreyas Iyer will lead the team, with Ricky Ponting as head coach.
