John Wright who works in the scouting department for Mumbai Indians first spotted Bumrah while scouting for fresh talent. He noticed Bumrah when he was playing a game for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy in 2014.
Mesmerized by his weird action and ability to pick quick wickets, Wright decided to sign Bumrah for Mumbai Indians.
