Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Known for his ability to swing the ball both ways, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was an obvious pick in the ICC World Test Championship final squad. After being out of the game for several months owing to injury concerns, the senior pacer from Uttar Pradesh made a decent return during the England series and looked in rhythm for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021.

Kumar would have been a perfect foil for Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami but unfortunately, he was left out. While the reason for his ouster is still not known, one reason can be another injury issue that kept him out of action in the last few IPL matches.
