Former West Indies captain and Mumbai Indians Legend Kieron Pollard turned 35 years old on 12th May 2022. Kieron Pollard has been involved in several great finishes for Mumbai Indians. He has been the backbone of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batting line-up and played several clutch performances in playoffs which helped Mumbai win five IPL titles.
Pollard is also a street smart bowler capable of winning matches with his clever bowling. He has a brilliant strike rate of 148 in the Indian Premier League which shows the impact he created. 3) Pollard taking guard outside the pitch (IPL 2019)
Mumbai Indians all rounder Kieron Pollard almost took a guard outside the pitch against CSK. Pollard stood far outside the off stump to express his dissatisfaction with umpire Nitin Menon after he failed to call it a wide ball on the previous ball. This moment happened in the 20th over of the game in the IPL 2019 Final.
Pollard threw his bat into the night sky to express his frustration over the decision of Umpire. For the next ball, Pollard took a guard outside the pitch. However, CSK bowler Dwayne Bravo didn’t deliver the ball. Several cricket fans shared a moment of laughter after this incident.
2) Pollard gesturing towards ball so that it reaches boundary (IPL 2021)
Kieron Pollard once again entertained cricket fans against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 with his funny character. Pollard was seen waving his hands towards the ball after he was hit on the helmet by a delivery from Chris Morris.
In the 18th over of the innings, Mumbai Indians looked in a comfortable position in the run Chase. Suddenly a ball from Chris Morris struck the helmet of Pollard. After striking the helmet, the ball was marching towards the fine leg boundary. Kieron Pollard was seen waving his hands towards the ball in order to pray that the ball reaches the boundary. This moment brought a smile on so many cricket fans watching this game.

This incident of Kieron Pollard taping his mouth is one of the most funniest incidents in the history of IPL which entertained a lot of fans. Mumbai Indians were defending the target of 209 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2015. Pollard was constantly chirping and trying to distract his West Indies team mate Chris Gayle while he was batting.
Umpires were not pleased with Pollard and warned him for this act. Pollard in reply to it , went towards the dugout and asked for a tape. He applied tape on his mouth to show his dissatisfaction with the umpire’s warning. This moment is fondly remembered by so many cricket fans and commentators.
