Mitchell Marsh guided the Delhi Capitals (DC) to an eight-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Sports Academy on Wednesday. They banked on two half-centuries from Marsh and David Warner to chase down 161 with 11 balls to spare.

Despite losing KS Bharat in the first over, Marsh put on a 144-run partnership for the second wicket alongside Warner en route to an 89 off 62 balls, setting his team to an eight-wicket win. David Warner also played a valiant unbeaten knock of 52 runs in 42 deliveries to see the team through.

It was a much-needed win for Delhi Capitals as it will keep them in the hunt for the playoffs. The cricketers celebrated the victory in style inside their dressing room. Warner yelled “How’s the josh” in the DC dressing room while the others responded with “High sir.”

“Just the ‘𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡’ you were waiting for  #RRvDC #TATAIPL | #IPL | #DelhiCapitals | @davidwarner31,” Delhi Capitals captioned the video while sharing.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals will have to win both their remaining matches to give themselves the best chance of making it to the IPL 2022 playoffs. Rishabh Pant and Co. will play Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last two league fixture.

“How good was Mitch there” – David Warner lauds teammate Marsh

The 35-year-old Australian opener showered praise on Mitchell Marsh, who played a match-winning knock to seal the tie in Delhi Capitals’ favour. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, David Warner said:

“It’s important (to win big) as the net run rate is a big factor with many teams in the race for those spots. Everyone is in good spirits and this is a great win for us.”

“Feels good to get across the line. How good was Mitch there! Came out there and started positively. We just told him that if he can get an 80 or 90, he can win games for us. Bowlers did a great job too. It was a bit two-paced, that hard length wasn’t easy to hit,” David Warner concluded.
