Domestic cricket has given many youngsters that have been performing in the domestic circuit and pushing for a place in the national side over the years. With the team management focusing on workload management due to the existing bio-bubble fatigue many youngsters could make international Debut in 2022.

On that note, let’s look at Top 5 players who might their India debut in 2022.

#5 R Sai Kishore

R Sai Kishore, the left-arm spinner from Tamil Nadu, is one of the most consistent performers in the domestic circuit. He played an instrumental role in the success of his domestic side Tamil Nadu in the last few years.

R Sai Kishore has taken 48 wickets in 17 first-class matches and 54 wickets in 33 List A matches. He has also picked 43 wickets in 38 T20 matches at an unbelievable economy of 5.46. Despite all his performances in the domestic circuit, he warmed the benches for CSK in the last two seasons without getting a single game.

With Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel having injury issues recently, the team management would be looking for a left-arm spinner and Sai Kishore fits the bill perfectly.

Sai Kishore has been around the Indian team for some time now. He travelled with the team on the tour to Sri Lanka as a net bowler. If he keeps on performing like that an international debut is not far away given there are not many left-arm spinners in the domestic circuit.


#4 Arshdeep Singh

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh made his IPL debut in 2019 but has been hogging the headlines since his performance in IPL 2021, where he picked up 18 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 8.27 including a 5 wicket haul.

Even though his team failed to qualify for the playoffs, Arshdeep Singh impressed the Punjab kings team management as they retained him for the forthcoming IPL 2022 season. He continued his wicket-taking form in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy while playing for Punjab. He picked 10 wickets in 5 matches.

Arshdeep Singh can pick up wickets both with the new ball and old Ball. If he continues his good performances he can be a huge asset for team India in the future.


#3 Ravi Bishnoi

Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi first came under the spotlight while representing India in the ICC U-19 World Cup. Bishnoi finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets in just 6 matches with an economy of merely 3.48 runs per over. This performance from Bishnoi helped team India qualify for the finals, however, they, unfortunately, lost to Bangladesh.

Bishnoi was picked by the Punjab franchise for a price of INR 2 crore ahead of IPL 2020. He made his mark straightaway finishing with 12 wickets in 14 matches. Overall, Bishnoi has played 23 matches in the IPL picking up 24 wickets at an Economy of 6.95 per over.

Chief selector of team India Chetan Sharma has confirmed that Ravi Bishnoi is on the radar and will get his due very soon.


#2 Avesh Khan

Fast bowler Avesh Khan made his debut in the domestic circuit for Madhya Pradesh way back in 2013. But it’s only since IPL 2021 where his stocks have raised. Avesh finished as the second-highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in 16 matches behind Harshal Patel.

Avesh got the wickets of big guns like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni and that shows how good bowler Avesh is. If he can work on his consistency, Avesh Khan can be a force to reckon with.


#1 Shahrukh Khan

Middle-order batter Shahrukh Khan made his debut in the domestic circuit for Tamil Nadu in 2014 but it’s since the last 1.5 years Shahrukh Khan has been hogging the headlines.

Team India has been looking for a finisher Since the retirement of MS Dhoni. Shahrukh Khan fits the bill perfectly. In the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy while playing for Tamil Nadu, he scored 253 runs at an average of 42.16, chipping in with some handy runs down the order.

If given chances Shahrukh Khan can end the search for a finisher.
