Rana made his first-class debut in the year 2015 Ranji Trophy tournament. Nitish Rana performed sensationally well and impressed everybody in his first season itself. In 2015-16, Ranji Trophy Rana ended the tournament with 557 runs at an average of 50.63. Also, Rana was the highest run-scorer for his team in that season.
