Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made an immediate impact on Day 1 of the third Test against England at Lord’s, picking up two wickets in his very first over. The seam-bowling all-rounder dismissed openers Ben Duckett (23) and Zak Crawley (18), halting England’s solid start after they had gone an hour without losing a wicket.
With England comfortably placed at 39/0 after 13 overs, captain Shubman Gill brought Reddy into the attack. Duckett struck a boundary off the second ball, but was dismissed the very next delivery, getting a faint glove down the leg side. Crawley followed soon after, edging a length ball that swung late, giving India a crucial breakthrough.

The 22-year-old nearly claimed Ollie Pope’s wicket immediately after dismissing Duckett, but captain Shubman Gill couldn’t hold on to a difficult one-handed catch in the gully.
Nitish Kumar Bowled Just Six Overs In The Second Test Against England
Nitish Kumar Reddy, who replaced Shardul Thakur in India’s playing XI for the second Test, had a quiet outing at Edgbaston. He bowled just six overs, conceding 29 runs, and had a disappointing outing with the bat—getting bowled by Chris Woakes after misjudging a leave in the first innings. He didn’t get to bat in the second innings.
In the ongoing third Test at Lord’s, England won the toss for the third time in the series and chose to bat first—marking a change in approach from their previous decisions. They brought in Jofra Archer in place of Josh Tongue, while India made one change as well, with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah returning in place of Prasidh Krishna.
With the series tied 1-1, the winner at Lord’s will gain a significant edge in the race for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. At lunch on Day 1, England were 83 for 2, with Ollie Pope and Joe Root at the crease.
