In walked the talented Mahipal Lomror at number 5 in his first match of IPL 2020. The southpaw took his time and gave respect to the conditions. 1. Mahipal Lomror was born on November 16, 1999, in a small town of Nagaur in Rajasthan. From the very beginning, he had ambitions of playing competitive cricket. He made his name in the 2016 U-19 world cup when he was just 17. Lomror contributed with both bat and ball and played a critical role in helping India reach the finals.
2. The exciting youngster got his first IPL contract in 2017 when he was signed by the Delhi Daredevils. Unfortunately, he couldn’t feature even in a single match that season but the Rajasthan Royals saw his potential and bought him in the IPL auctions in 2018.
3. The 20-year-old is the youngest ever Indian to lead a side in a T20 match. In the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, Mahipal Lomror was handed the captaincy by his stateside Rajasthan at the age of 18 years and 357 days.

4. Mahipal Lomror is a huge fan of former Australia opening batsman Adam Gilchrist. He has always followed the former Aussie player’s style of batting. Much like Gilchrist, Lomror too likes to play attacking strokes without fearing the match situations and opposition bowlers.
5. In his village of Nagaur in Rajasthan there was no cricket academy where Lomror could register. But he believed in himself and continued playing tennis ball cricket. Eventually, his talent was spotted and he then started practising at an academy in 2008.
All his family members and villagers were ecstatic when they saw Lomror on the television for the first time during the U-19 World Cup.
