Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar was roped in by Mumbai Indians for his base price of 20 lakhs in the IPL 2021 Auction. Mumbai Indians made some smart buys in the auction. Adam Milne and Nathan Culter-Nile are two of the smartest buys made by the franchise. Incidentally, Arjun was the last player to be sold in the IPL 2021 auction. Meanwhile, former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra has tried explaining the reason behind the five-time IPL champions roping in the son of the Little Master

Aakash Chopra, who keenly observed the entire auction and shared his opinion on various deals all throughout the day, rubbished the suggestion that it was only Arjun’s surname that got him into the franchise. “They have also got the only Tendulkar perhaps money can buy because the other Tendulkar never came at the auction. Arjun was available, they bought him. “Of course, he can learn a lot from the house as well. He has a father who can teach him the ropes. But now he will be part of a very successful franchise with a lot of knowledge and wisdom around. So I am pretty sure he will benefit from that experience” Chopra told Star Sports.

Incidentally, Arjun Tendulkar was not in the initial 20-members squad but was added later on after BCCI increased the squad size from 20 to 22. The moment came after Mumbai suffered two back-to-back defeats to start the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign.

Arjun Tendulkar played only two matches for Mumbai in the tournament and did not have a good one to remember. After missing out from Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad, Arjun Tendulkar was seen plying his trade in the 73rd Police Invitation Shield Cricket tournament.

As per reports in PTI, Arjun smacked 77 runs off just 31 deliveries before returning with three wickets as MIG Cricket Ground recorded a massive win by 194 runs. Arjun Tendulkar grabbed the headlines smashing five sixes in an over bowled by off-spinner Hashir Dafedar. In total, Arjun’s knock included 8 sixes and five fours, the report adds.
