ENG vs IND 2021: “Not Going To Happen” – Aakash Chopra On Suryakumar Yadav Playing In The Fourth Test

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra feels Suryakumar Yadav will not get a chance in the fourth test match against England. The five-match Test series between England and India is leveled at 1-1 after three test matches.

The Indian middle-order, the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane have been inconsistent in the format this year. Hence there have been talks about bringing in Suryakumar Yadav or Hanuma Vihari in the playing XI. A few former cricketers and pundits have called for Suryakumar Yadav’s inclusion in the squad.

However, Aakash Chopra does not feel that the Mumbai batsman will get a chance. In a video on the former cricketer’s Youtube Channel, he responded:

“Suryakumar Yadav – no, not going to happen. I am a little biased towards him, I like him but you will play him in place of whom? Will you play a sixth batsman?”

Aakash Chopra further added that India, will not drop anyone from the top-six batters. Hence, Suryakumar Yadav will not find a place.

“You will not touch anyone who is playing – Rohit, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, and Rishabh Pant – all these six are going to play. If this top six remains, there is no place,” Aakash Chopra added.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion is a definite consideration: Aakash Chopra

Ashwin

Aakash Chopra was also asked about the chances of Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion in the playing XI for the next Test match. Ashwin was left out since the first test match to accommodate and go in with the combination of four pace bowlers. Aakash Chopra feels that the spinner’s inclusion will depend on the conditions on offer. He said:

“About Ashwin, you are going to the Oval. The ball turns there and the pitch is a little flat. He played for Surrey as well and knows the pitch also, that is a definite consideration.”

“But until you see the pitch, I don’t think you can have an answer, whether it is a four fast-bowler pitch or two spinners if they are going for five bowlers. If you are going to play four bowlers and want to play just the one spinner, then the question will be to go towards Jaddu or Ashwin,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
