The second day’s play at Centurion was called off due to bad weather and persistent rain throughout the day. India will resume day 3 on 272/3 looking to add as many runs as possible in their first innings. 98 overs will be bowled in each of the remaining three days of the first Test. India have their noses in front in this Test match as of now and day 2 being called off did not help their cause.
Meanwhile, a picture of Team India’s menu for lunch on day 2 of the Centurion Test has gone viral. The team was treated to some really good food which included chicken Chettinad, yellow dal, vegetable kadhai among other dishes.
The start of the second day’s play was delayed due to wet outfield. However, during the course of the day, it rained, making the conditions even worse for batting.

KL Rahul scored his seventh Test ton and was unbeaten on 122 at stumps on day one. With him at the other end was Ajinkya Rahane on 40. While Rahane’s inclusion was criticised he looked solid while batting out there in the middle.
The weather forecast for the remaining three days of the test match is expected to be a lot better. The next two days are expected to be mostly sunny while the final day of the match might see a bit of rain again.

Rain has not been Team India’s “friend” in recent times. The WTC final had rain for the first four days with very little play possible. However, the weather cleared on the final day, only for India to lose the final, purely because the conditions for batting were very difficult on day five.
India also were denied a chance of winning the Trent Bridge Test against England earlier this year. India had a good chance to win on day 5. However, consistent rain throughout the day denied India that opportunity.
