Mumbai Indians wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan justifies his high price tag, as he makes a brilliant start to the Indian Premier League 2022 season. The left-hander slammed an unbeaten half-century against the Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday.
Ishan Kishan was signed by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping 15.25 crores in the auctions. The left-hander opened the innings along with skipper Rohit Sharma. The duo started to take on the Delhi Capitalsโ bowlers early in the innings.
They slammed 53 runs at no loss in the power play pushing the opposition team on the backfoot. After the power play, Mumbai Indians lost their skipper Rohit Sharma. This was followed by a batting collapse.
However, Ishan continued to bat with the same intent. In the 17th, over he slammed Axar Patel for a huge six to complete his fifty. Ishan Kishan cleared his front leg against a short of length delivery to smash it over the deep mid-wicket region for a six. The left-hander raised his bat, to acknowledge the loud applause from the crowd.

This is what happens when a franchise makes a player believe in himself; by making him feel he belongs; by going out of the way to buy him after promising him they'll buy him.
He'll do everything to keep their trust.#IshanKishan
