Former India opener Aakash Chopra is currently one of the hottest properties on social media platforms. He is considered to be one of the best commentators in the country. Recently, Aakash Chopra sat down to pick his current best Test XI. Surprisingly, he left out New Zealand skipper and the ever-consistent Kane Williamson from his team.
Meanwhile, Aakash has been in the news with his sharp analysis of the game. He has carved a niche for himself for calling spade a spade. After coming with the current best T20I and ODI XI, Aakash Chopra has now revealed his Test XI.
Virat Kohli to lead the side
The former India opener started with Tom Latham to open the innings alongside Mayank Agarwal. While the Indian opener has had an outstanding debut, the Kiwi has a decent record which often goes unnoticed.
At no. 3, Chopra kept Steve Smith, whose average is above 62 in Tests. He is also the no.1 Test batsman. India skipper Virat Kohli will follow the Aussie at No. 4, who will also lead the side. England’s Ben Stokes is the only all-rounder in the side followed Quinton de Kock, who will guard the stumps.
Meanwhile, Pat Cummins, Neil Wagner and Jasprit Bumrah will form the pace unit with Australia’s Nathan Lyon as the only spinner in Test XI. However, it was surprising to see Mohammed Shami miss out after having a fabulous year in 2019.
Moreover, Aakash Chopra also named four reserves in his current-best Test XI. Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Australia new batting sensation Marnus Labuschagne along with BJ Watling and Stuart Broad will be the standby’s.
