Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra has got his thinking cap on and has predicted five costliest overseas players in the upcoming IPL 2021 auction. The IPL 2021 Auction is all set to be held in Chennai on February 18. It will be broadcasted live on Star Sports network in India from 3 pm and on the Hotstar app for live streaming. As many as 292 players will go under the hammer as the franchisees will battle it out amongst themselves to get the best player as per their team requirements. Kings XI Punjab will enter into the auction with a maximum purse of Rs 53.20 crore.
10 players have the maximum bracket of 2 crores as the base price. Those players are namely Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav are the two Indian players in the list. Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy and Mark Wood are the overseas recruits in the list.

Aakash Chopra Predicts 5 Costliest Overseas Players
Meanwhile, previewing the auction on his official Facebook page, Aajash Chopra has predicted the five overseas players who are likely to invite maximum bids in the auction.
Aakash Chopra said that Glenn Maxwell, Shakib AL Hasan, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy and Aaron Finch are the five overseas players who will invite maximum bids from the franchises. The former Indian batsman shared 18 minute-long video on Facebook.
Chopra further spoke about Shakib Al Hasan being one of the overseas options for Kings XI Punjab. Meanwhile, he believes that either of Chennai Super Kings or Royal Challengers Bangalore will bid the most for Glenn Maxwell.
“Punjab have only two spinners-both leg-spinners and need a middle-order batsman as well. Therefore, Shakib Al Hasan will be a perfect deal for KXIP in such a scenario,” Aakash Chopra says in the video.
Apart from Maxwell and Shakib, Aakash Chopra said that the likes of Jhye Richardson, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Chris Morris will be the other costliest overseas players.
“Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and RCB will be in the race to get Australia pacer Jhye Richardson in their team. Kings XI Punjab, CSK and RCB will look to buy Nathan Coulter-Nile and Chris Morris. The two pacers might go to RCB and KXIP”, Chopra added.
