Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has picked his winner for the third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and India. The R Premadasa stadium will host the game later today. However, the former Indian cricketer has picked his winner ahead of the game. Chopra has backed India to win the game and whitewash the Lankans in the three-match series. The Men in Blue have already won the series by winning two games back to back.
Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra previewed the game in his latest Youtube video. He spoke about the reasons why India will beat Sri Lanka in the final game.
“India to win once again. That means it is 3-0, a whitewash. You generally get whitewash done before Diwali and Diwali has some relation with Lanka as well.”
Manish Pandey Will Score A Fifty In 3rd ODI: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra has also backed Manish Pandey to score a fifty in the final ODI. The Karnataka batsman was very unlucky to get run-out after being well set in the second ODI. He scored 37 from 31 balls before being run out by opposition skipper Dasun Shanaka.
“Manish Pandey will score a fifty. Some will agree, some will disagree but he bats at No.4 and I am seeing some form. I feel he can score 50 runs. It is important for Pandey ji, let’s be honest. He is not going to get too many matches, he also knows it. In the last match he got out in an unfortunate manner.”
Chopra further said that the Indian openers will score more runs than the Lankan openers despite the Lankan openers being in form. The lack of their openers to put in a good opening stand has hurt the team’s chances in the series so far.
“Indian openers will score more runs than the Sri Lankan openers although the Sri Lankan openers have been giving consistent starts.”
Both teams play a three-match T20I series after the final ODI which starts from July 25 in Colombo.
