Ahead of the 2020 Big Bash League season, another development has taken place. This time it’s about Matthew Renshaw as Adelaide Strikers have signed him from Brisbane Heat on a three-year deal. The deal coming through after Renshaw became a constant star performer for the Brisbane Heat ever since he made his Big Bash debut in 2018.
The young batsmen from Australia made huge headlines after debuting for the test side very early in his career. After which the batsmen had considerable success with the Brisbane Heat side. Where he was seen batting up the order and even lower down the order at times. Furthermore, in 2019, he was also seen trying his hand at bowling where he managed to pick key wickets at crucial stages.
Matthew Renshaw Excited To Join Adelaide Strikers
The 24-year-old batsmen was also the second-highest run-scorer for Brisbane last season where he managed to score 348 runs with the help of 3 fifties. Matthew Renshaw is looking forward to joining the Adelaide based franchise a three-year deal. He stressed upon the home ground of Adelaide which is shaped in an oval and since he knows the ground well, it will work in his advantage.
“The Adelaide Strikers have always been an impressive franchise and to be joining them for the next three years. I’m just ecstatic and looking forward to having Adelaide Oval as my home ground. Which is an oval that I know well and is also one of the best in the world.”
Jason Gillespie, the coach of Adelaide Strikers welcomed Matthew with open arms since he feels the youngster has proven his worth in the t20 format in the last couple of years.
“We welcome Matt who is a proven batsman and he has really come into his own in T20 cricket in the last couple of seasons.” Said Jason Gillespie.
