Former India cricketer Ajit Agarkar was thoroughly impressed by the performances of one young player in the IPL. From Devdutt Paddikkal to Ishan Kishan and several other talented Indian players showcased their skills and competed with some of the best players in the world. Agarkar who was working as a commentator in IPL 2020 identified one player that can shortly represent team India.

The young player that Agarkar spoke highly about is the 20-year-old fast bowler Kartik Tyagi. Agarkar deems that Tyagi has got something special about him and he loved watching him bowl during the IPL. Tyagi played for the Rajasthan Royals and scalped key wickets in his very first season.

Ajit Agarkar Believes Kartik Tyagi Will Soon Play For Team India

He dismissed the likes of Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock and looked at home in his very first IPL season. On top of the that his ability to crank it up and bowl with pace and his attitude at such a young age struck Agarkar.

“I think the one guy I quite loved watching in this IPL was Kartik Tyagi for Rajasthan Royals. I think there is something about him for someone who is so young and inexperienced.

“His attitude was great and it is never easy for a young raw Indian fast bowler to come and have a big IPL but you learn from these experiences”, Ajit Agarkar said during Star Sports show Cricket Connected when asked about who could play for Team India soon.

The former India pacer expects Tyagi to improve and evolve going forward in his career. Ajit Agarkar believes that Tyagi has all the tools to be successful and bowl at any stages in T20 cricket.

“The hope is that you get better as you go forward because he seems to have the goods, he (Tyagi) seems to have the skillsets to bowl at various stages of a T20 game, which is probably the hardest thing to do,” Ajit Agarkar said about Kartik Tyagi.

Meanwhile, Tyagi picked a total of 9 wickets in the 10 matches he played for the Royals in the recently concluded IPL. He made the headlines after is impressive performances in the U-19 world cup earlier this year. Tyagi is currently with the Indian side in Australia and will be bowling to the batsman in the nets as they prepare for the big tour ahead.
