Team India cricketer Shreyas Iyer has finally managed to settle the middle-order conundrum with his consistent scores in the middle-order. Iyer had the backing of his skipper and delivered the good for his side. Recently, Shreyas Iyer heaped praise on Virat Kohli calling him as energetic as a lion.

The India skipper is well-known for backing his players and giving them the opportunity to express themselves. Iyer made into the Indian team in the aftermath of the World Cup ouster and immediately, made a point. He was consistent in West Indies and was India’s highest run-scorer against New Zealand.

Recently, during a chat on Instagram from his franchise Delhi Capitals’ handle, Shreyas Iyer outlined how Virat Kohli leads by an example. Calling him a role model for youngsters, the cricketer from Mumbai said its a phenomenal feeling when Kohli speaks.

“It’s really a phenomenal feeling when he talks or compliments his teammates… He’s a role model for all the youngsters out there,” Iyer said. 

Adding further, the middle-order batsman said that Virat Kohli is always energetic like a lion. Shreyas Iyer also added there is a lot to learn from the skipper every time he goes inside the field. Kohli, apart from his batting, has taken his fitness to a whole new level. He has stressed on the importance of training which has completely changed the face of Indian cricket for good.

“Whenever he goes out on the field it feels as if he’s playing his first game. He’s never tired, always energetic like a lion. You see a different body language when he enters the ground, something great to learn from him,” Iyer added.
