Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged as the winner in their encounter against Delhi Capitals (CSK). CSK won by a comfortable margin of 91 runs. Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni played the most crucial role for CSK in this win.

While Shivam Dube and Conway were batting in the middle, MS Dhoni was seen “eating” his bat while holding it in a horizontal manner. These pictures went viral on social media. Earlier too during ODI World Cup semifinal against New Zealand in 2019, Dhoni was spotted eating his bat. Many cricket fans were curious to know the reasoning behind it.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra in his social media post revealed the reason behind it. Amit Mishra said that Dhoni ‘eats’ his bat to keep his bat clean. The veteran cricketer believes that MS Dhoni doesn’t like tape or thread coming out of his bat. In order to remove the tape, Dhoni ‘eats’ his bat.

In case you’re wondering why Dhoni often ‘eats’ his bat. He does that to remove tape of the bat as he likes his bat to be clean. You won’t see a single piece of tape or thread coming out of MS’s bat. #CSKvDC #TATAIPL2022″, Amit Mishra tweeted.

Happy to build a partnership with Rutu, he makes my job easier – Devon Conway

Earlier in the game, Conway played an amazing knock of 87 runs in 49 balls to take CSK to a total of 296 runs. Conway was well supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 41 runs. Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni also chipped in with impactful cameos to take CSK above 200 plus total. Conway grabbed the player of the match award for his brilliant knock.

“The thought process was just about keeping it simple. It was just about communicating with Ruturaj. I am just happy to build that partnership up with Rutu, and the way he’s playing, he makes my job easier. I have to be true to myself, authentic to myself. I look to play cricket shots and just assess where to put my foot down.” said Devon Conway.
