Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are facing each other at Wankhede Stadium in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With Mumbai Indians already out of the race for playoffs, MI made several changes to their playing XI in this match to test their bench strength for next season. However, Arjun Tendulkar was once again excluded from the playing XI.

Arjun Tendulkar is the son of Sachin Tendulkar. Arjun is 22 years old left-arm pacer and a leftie batsman too. He is an all-rounder which is the most demanding skill in T20 cricket. Despite being an all-rounder, he couldn’t find a place in the Mumbai Indians team.

Mumbai Indians have tried several combinations but Arjun failed to find a place in any of them. Several cricket fans vouched for the inclusion of Arjun Tendulkar in the MI playing XI because he can swing the bowl in powerplay. Some fans also blamed Mumbai Indians for spoiling the career of Arjun by benching him for straight two IPL seasons.

Here is how fans voiced their opinions on it :

Arjun Tendulkar was picked by the Mumbai franchise ahead of IPL 2021 at his base price of ₹20 lakhs. The five-time IPL champions reacquired his services earlier this year for ₹ 30 lakhs.

“It all depends on combination” – Mahela Jayawardene on Arjun Tendulkar’s chances

Earlier when Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene was asked about the chances of Arjun Tendulkar getting a game in this IPL, here is what he said:

“Well, I think everyone in the squad is an option. We will see how things go. It is about match-ups and how we can win the matches and our priority is to make sure that we get the right match-ups. If Arjun is one of them, then we will consider it, yes, but it all depends on the combination that we put out.”
