Former India cricketer and commentator, Arun Lal is all set to get married to his long-time friend Bul Bul Saha in a private ceremony on May 2, 2022. The wedding reception will be held at the Peerless Inn hotel in Kolkata. The couple got engaged about a month ago, according to reports.
The current coach of the Bengal Ranji team was previously married to Reena. But they divorced each other by mutual consent. Lal, though, continues to live with his first wife, who is currently unwell. As per News18 Bengali, Lal has taken her consent to tie the knot with his current partner Bul Bul. Lal has sent his wedding invitation to the Bengal cricket team, CAB officials, and other close relatives and friends.
Lal used to be a regular commentator- be it international cricket, domestic cricket or IPL matches. However, he was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma- a rare type of cancer- in 2016, which kept him away from the commentary box. He overcame the disease, and now coaches the Bengal team.
Under his coaching, Bengal made it to the final of the Ranji Trophy back in 2020, after a long gap of 13 years. Even in the current season, they have made it to the quarterfinals after accumulating the highest total of 18 with three consecutive victories.
No change in Bengal Coaching staff: Snehasish Ganguly
According to secretary Snehasish Ganguly, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is not contemplating replacing its current coaching staff, which includes Arun Lal.
Ganguly stated: “I’ve read in various parts of the media that CAB is in the process of hiring new coaching staff for the upcoming season. I’d like to state unequivocally that this information is false. In the middle of a season when the senior Bengal team is playing good competitive cricket, these rumors are unwarranted and detrimental. The team is performing admirably. The coaching staff is performing admirably. CAB is pleased with the team’s present support structure, and any reports to the contrary are untrue and unfounded.”
