Ashes 2023: [WATCH] Virat Kohli Gives A Befitting Reply When Provoked By Ollie Robinson

Ollie Robinson recently received a dose of his own medicine from Virat Kohli.

Since the start of the Ashes in 2023, the England pacer Ollie Robinson has been a frequent topic of discussion on social media. Usman Khawaja and he had several well-publicized on-field fights.

He received a lot of backlash for some of the words he used to describe the Australia batter on the field. But Robinson’s ‘big mouth‘ behavior on the field is nothing new.

The seamer received criticism even during India’s tour of England in 2021 for his field antics. Even the then-Indian captain Virat Kohli engaged Robinson in a verbal duel, which it is fair to say Kohli won.

Robinson was to receive a dose of his own medicine during the second Test of the India tour, thanks to Kohli.

This is the audio of Kohli asking Robinson, “How boring was your innings? Maybe that’s how you survive in a test match. Come on, big mouth (Robinson), Gonna bring your sheets today?”

After Jasprit Bumrah threw a few bouncers at James Anderson in the first innings, the mood among the Indian players on the field changed.

At the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston, Robinson called Khawaja a few unkind names and defended his actions by claiming that former Australia captain Ricky Ponting had a similar habit of berating opponents.

Ponting shot back at Robinson with a scathing retort, unhappy to see his name associated with the controversy.

This England cricket team hasn’t played against Australia, as I said after Ollie Robinson said what he did. They’ll quickly learn what it’s like to play in the Ashes and against a strong Australian team, Ponting predicted. “And if Robinson hasn’t picked up on that already after last week, he’s a slow learner,” said the speaker. “

In response to a question regarding his incident with Khawaja, Robinson stated that “He didn’t care how the Australians perceived him because he has evolved into someone who “provides the theatre of the game.”
