R Ashwin Shares His Views On Pakistan’s Request To Change WC Venues

Pakistan’s strange demand has prompted a response from Ravichandran Ashwin. In his most recent YouTube video, he claimed that given the nature of the request, it is unlikely that the ICC will take it seriously.

While the fans eagerly await the match of the major event, India is preparing to host the 50-over World Cup later this year.

According to reports, the ICC is awaiting confirmation from Pakistan regarding their participation in the competition scheduled to take place in India later this year.

Additionally, it has come to light that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made an odd request for venue changes.

Ashwin responds to Pakistan’s strange request for a venue change for the World Cup

The final draft of the World Cup match, in accordance with ICC protocol, was reportedly sent to all of the participating countries.

To play Australia and Afghanistan, Pakistan has asked for a change in the location of the games.

On October 20 at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Babar Azam and company will take on Australia, and three days later, Afghanistan at Chennai’s Chidambaram Stadium.

However, PCB has asked to switch the locations without offering a good reason. The team reportedly wants to enter every game as the favorite, according to the reports.

As a result of Pakistan’s strange demand, veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has responded.

The Indian cricketer claimed in his most recent YouTube video that given the nature of the request, the ICC is not likely to take it seriously.

Pakistan stated that Afghanistan will benefit from the conditions in Chennai in their request letter.

“As a result, Pakistan gains an advantage by switching locations. So, I seriously doubt that the ICC will heed this request,” Ashwin said.

“If Pakistan had given a security justification, the match locations could have been switched, just as they were in the 2016 T20 World Cup when the India vs. Pakistan match was moved from Dharamsala to Kolkata.”

“Perhaps it could be moved if Pakistan provided some good security justifications. One more crucial factor. Interesting venue change request from Pakistan.”

Pakistan will now face Australia in Bangalore and Afghanistan in Chennai. According to him, they want the locations switched.

On June 27, exactly 100 days before the tournament begins, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is anticipated to make the official announcement regarding the fixture.
