“Bad Form Was Playing On My Mind” – Yuzvendra Chahal Reacts After T20 World Cup Snub

Team India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has finally responded to the T20 World Cup snub saying that he was anticipating this considering that the spinner was going through a rough patch. Last week, the All India Senior Selection Committee announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming global T20 meet, scheduled to commence on October 17 in the UAE and Oman.

Chahal endured a dip in form in international in the last couple of years. A poor run in the first half of IPL 2021 where he managed only four wickets from seven matches at an average of 47.80 and an economy of 8.26.

Speaking on Aakash Chopra’s YouTube channel. Yuzvendra Chahal thanked his wife Dhanashree Verma for sticking to her during the difficult times. He said:

“Bad form was playing on my mind a bit, especially after the IPL. I sat down with my wife Dhanashree who helped me. She told me that every day you won’t take wickets, it’s just a bad phase.

“I knew that I was bowling well but sometimes in T20 cricket, it’s very hard to take wickets if a batsman doesn’t attack. It affects you when you don’t have wickets to show in the column,’ Yuzvendra Chahal added.
