The 2021-22 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) is all set to get underway from December 5 (Sunday) with defending champions Sydney Sixers locking horns against Melbourne Stars at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the opening fixture.
Cricketers from all parts of the world have traveled to Australia to participate in the premier T20 competition. A total of eights team will fight it out for the illustrious trophy with a total of 61 matches are in schedule including league-stage games and knock-out clashes.

The top five sides at the end of the league stage will advance to the qualifying round. The top two teams will battle it out in the Qualifier with a place in the final at stakes. On the other hand, the fourth and fifth-placed teams will lock horns in the Eliminator. While the loser will be out of the title race, the winner will advance to the knock-out, where the third-placed team is slotted by virtue. The winner of Knock-Out will meet the loser of the Qualifier to determine the other finalist.
The final of the BBL 2021-22 is scheduled to take place on January 28.
Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers have won the tournament three times each while Melbourne Renegades, Sydney Thunder, Brisbane Heat, and Adelaide Strikers have won once each,
