BCCI Didn’t Treat MS Dhoni The Right Way – Saqlain Mushtaq

The Independence Day of India this year turned out to be an emotional day for all cricket fans. As late in the day on 15th, August MS Dhoni officially announced his retirement from international cricket. After serving India for 15 years Dhoni preferred to hang his boots and updated everyone through a video on Instagram.

The former India captain decided against playing a farewell match and retired from the game. All his devotees and several former cricketers wanted Dhoni to play another match that would have been his grand farewell in India colours.

Now former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq is another addition to that list as he also believes that Dhoni was justified to bow out in style. Saqlain on his YouTube channel criticised BCCI and stated that it is a loss for the cricket board. He added that that the BCCI didn’t treat the retirement of Dhoni the right way and wanted to see Dhoni play for one more time in his goodbye match for India.

“I always say positive things and try not to spread negativity in any way but I think I should say this. This is kind of a defeat of BCCI. They did not treat a big player like him in the right way. The retirement shouldn’t have happened like this”.

This is coming straight from my heart and I believe millions of his fans feel the same way. I’m really sorry to BCCI that I’m saying this but they didn’t treat Dhoni well, I’m hurt,” said Saqlain in his YouTube channel.

“May God bless him in his future endeavours and whatever decisions he makes but there is one regret that I have. I think Dhoni’s every fan will have the same regret. It would’ve been great to see him retire after playing in the India kit for one last time”, Saqlain further added.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s last international match was against New Zealand in the world cup semi-finals last year. He will return to action in the forthcoming IPL season which will begin on September 19 in the UAE.

Dhoni will be leading the Chennai Super Kings who were the finalists in the last edition of the IPL. Dhoni along with the entire CSK have already reached the host country and undergoing their quarantine period.
