BGT All-Rounder Shares Hilarious Tale Involving Jasprit Bumrah At Australian Cricket Awards 2025

Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational performance in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) between India and Australia. The star pacer was named Player of the Series for consistently dismantling the Australian batting lineup.

Bumrah’s impact was so profound that it seems to have left a lasting impression on the Australian players, who are still recovering from the challenges of facing him. One such player is all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.

During the Australian Cricket Awards, Marsh shared a humorous incident about his nephew, Ted, mimicking Bumrah’s bowling action during a backyard cricket game—an experience that brought back some unsettling memories. Here’s what Marsh revealed via ‘Cricket.com.au’:

“My little nephew Ted is four years old. We played backyard cricket one day, and he came in with Bumrah’s action, and the nightmare continued (laughs).”

Mitchell Marsh had a tough time in the Test series against India. Supporters expected him to be Australia’s key all-rounder, but his lackluster performances forced the team management to exclude him from the playing XI for the fifth Test, with debutant Beau Webster stepping in as his replacement.

Is Jasprit Bumrah Set to Feature for India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025?

Jasprit Bumrah’s heavy workload has led to yet another injury setback for the fast bowler. As a precaution, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rested him for the recently concluded five-match T20I series against England.

While he has been named in India’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, his participation in the tournament remains uncertain. As per Sahil Malhotra of ‘Times of India’ via X, Bumrah arrived in Bengaluru on February 3, where the BCCI medical team will assess his condition.

A final decision on his availability for the Champions Trophy is expected in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Indian team is set to play a three-match ODI series against England as preparation for the Champions Trophy. The series kicks off on Thursday, February 6, in Nagpur.
